| Sand Castle days are probably one of the most fun events here on South Padre Island. Plenty of things for the young ones to do and basic classes for the novice builder. World class Sand Castle builders show their innovative techniques, new styles and compete for a number of accolades. Numerous local groups come out to compete as well! According to some, we have the best sand in the world for such an event. It is an event every one enjoys! A number of vendors are on hand to show their wears and there is always the T- Shirt for a keepsake, ha ha Usually held the third weekend in October, temperatures are generally moderate and the sun is bright. Come join us and don’t forget to take in our local “bill of fair” at some of the finest restaurants anywhere in the world, get your shrimp fix! |
